Umut Karaman graduated from the Graphic Design Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hacettepe University in 1999. She worked for many years as a UI and visual designer in the software industry.

From the early 2010s onward, she shifted her focus to illustration and textile-based projects, producing work across fashion, home décor, and publishing. Her distinctive line-driven visual language has been featured in projects for brands and figures such as PaÅŸabahçe (ÅžiÅŸecam), Nude Glass (ÅžiÅŸecam), Birce Akalay, Mavi Jeans, Les Benjamins, Vogue Türkiye, AyÅŸe Kulin, Tuba Ünsal, Nif BaÄŸları, Gara Guzu & Jameson, LÖSEV and Zubizu.

Her Rock & Pop series, created for Nude Glass in 2018 and still sold across Europe and the United States, received a design award at the Archiproducts Design Awards in Milan.

In 2008, the illustrated book The Fifth Season, for which she created the illustrations, was selected for publication in the Tudem Illustrated Children’s Book Competition. In the same year, she became a finalist in the Aegean Exporters’ Association Fashion Design Competition.

Today, she continues to produce art prints, textiles, and special projects shaped by her characteristic illustration language. She also leads the design process of sustainable, locally produced collections under the brand Cazular, which she co-founded with her partner.
